Clinker rotary kiln is a professional equipment designed according to the characteristics of clinker, it is a kind of large-scale rotary high-temperature calcining equipment, which mainly calcines raw materials such as limestone and clay under high temperature through physical and chemical reactions, that is, semi-finished cement products. The calcination process of clinker includes crushing pre-homogenization, raw material preparation, raw material homogenization, preheating decomposition and clinker firing.
Clinker Kiln Structure
The main part of clinker rotary kiln mainly consists of cylinder, front roller ring, back roller ring, gear and thrust bearing seat, cooler and so on. According to user requirements, clinker rotary kiln can also add gas generator, combustion chamber or auxiliary crane, belt conveyor, quantitative feeder, cyclone dust collector and induced draft fan.
Clinker Kiln Design Principle
In clinker rotary kilns, the Suspension preheating kiln and the Calcining kiln are collectively called new clinker rotary kilns. Suspension preheating kiln is a kind of high-efficiency calcining equipment in cement production, which belongs to the core part of new dry-process cement technology. The main use of suspension preheater system (usually 4-6 cyclone preheater) will be dispersed raw material powder in the rising hot air flow suspension, gas-solid high-efficiency heat exchange, so that the raw material into the rotary kiln before the completion of the full preheating and part of the carbonate decomposition (decomposition rate of up to 85% -95%), a substantial reduction in energy consumption. Suspension preheating kilns (such as SP kilns or NSP kilns with precalciner systems) have become the mainstream technology in the modern cement industry, combining high production, low consumption and environmental advantages.
Calcining kiln is a kind of industrial kiln used for high-temperature heat treatment of materials (e.g., ores, limestone, cement raw materials, refractory materials, etc.), which is heated to make the materials undergo physical or chemical changes (e.g., decomposition, oxidization, sintering, etc.) in order to obtain the desired product properties. The core advantages of the calcining kiln are high temperature controllability and reaction efficiency. Different kiln types are selected according to material characteristics, production scale and energy requirements.
Raw material enters from the end of the kiln, and moves slowly to the kiln head with the rotation of the cylinder in the kiln, while the kiln head burner injects fuel to form a high temperature flame (about 1450℃), so that the raw material undergoes the process of preheating, decomposition, sintering and cooling, and finally forms cement clinker. In this process, calcium carbonate decomposes into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide, and calcium oxide reacts with silica and alumina in the clay in solid phase to produce minerals such as tricalcium silicate (C₃S), which is cooled sharply by the cooler to obtain granular clinker, and the exhaust gas recovers the residual heat through the preheater to improve thermal efficiency.
