Cement kiln is the hot work for producing cement clinker, commonly used are vertical kiln and reversing kiln. Cement reversing is usually divided into four belts: pre-tropical belt, differentiation belt, firing belt and cooling belt. Sometimes a certain area between the firing and cooling zones, and the firing and differentiation zones is called the transition zone.
The firing zone kiln liner is the single bad section of all reverse kilns, so the life of the firing zone represents the life of the reverse kiln. The kiln lining of the rotary kiln is affected by high and variable temperatures, as well as by wear and tear of materials, air flow and chemical corrosion. Kiln lining damage in the cooling and preheating zones is mainly due to material wear and scouring of the gas stream, while chemical corrosion is the main cause in the firing and differentiation zones.
Generally, the reaction between the kiln lining and the molten material in the firing zone produces a low melt adhering to the surface of the kiln lining, i.e., the formation of kiln skin. Kiln skin has a protective effect on the kiln lining, so it can extend the life of the kiln lining. However, if the operation is not normal, the kiln skin will be damaged or hanging or hanging degree is not uniform, so that the dense lining thermal stress, the formation of the kiln lining fall off and other damage.
How To Choose Refractory For Cement Kilns?
Cement kilns can use different types of refractory materials according to the differences in temperature, chemical erosion, mechanical wear and so on.
Basic refractory bricks, mainly used in high temperature zones. Including magnesium-chromium bricks, magnesium-iron spinel bricks, magnesium-aluminum spinel bricks, dolomite bricks. Magnesium-chromium brick can withstand high temperatures (above 1700 ℃), anti-clinker erosion, generally used in the firing belt, but there is a chromium pollution problem; magnesium-iron spinel bricks hanging kiln skin performance is good, but high temperature performance is slightly weaker for the transition zone; magnesium-aluminum spinel bricks thermal shock resistance is good, but the thermal conductivity of the high coal consumption; dolomite bricks resistant to alkali erosion ability, but easy to hydrate, storage needs special attention.
Aluminum-silicon refractory bricks, mainly used in the low and medium temperature band. Including high alumina bricks, silica-mo bricks 2, alkali resistant bricks. High alumina bricks are used for decomposition belt, kiln door cover and other parts, good resistance to spalling; silicon brick wear-resistant, heat shock resistance, suitable for cooler, three air ducts and other high wear areas; alkali bricks are used for preheater, kiln tail and other serious parts of alkali erosion, can form a protective glaze layer to prevent alkali penetration.
Thermal insulation refractory materials, including calcium silicate board, lightweight castables, ceramic fiber products. Calcium silicate board is widely used in kiln body heat insulation, low thermal conductivity, reduce heat loss; lightweight castables are used in kiln door hood, three air ducts and other parts of the need for thermal insulation; ceramic fiber products are used for local high-temperature insulation, such as kiln hood lining. 5.
Silicon carbide materials, generally silicon carbide bricks and silicon carbide composite bricks. Silicon carbide bricks are used in kiln door hoods, coolers and other wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant parts, and do not react with alkali; silicon carbide composite bricks combine the abrasion-resistant properties of silicon carbide and the thermal shock resistance of other materials, and are suitable for high wear areas.
