The calcium aluminate rotary kiln has a low melting point and can quickly melt steel for desulfurization. The working principle of calcium aluminate rotary kiln is to convert bauxite and limestone into calcium aluminate through a high-temperature solid-phase reaction. The workflow is as follows:

  • Raw material pretreatment: bauxite and limestone are mixed and ground into raw meal in proportion, and fed into the rotary kiln from the kiln tail;
  • Pyrolysis: The material slowly moves to the kiln head with the rotation of the cylinder in the kiln, and goes through the stages of drying and limestone decomposition in turn;
  • High temperature reaction: In the sintering zone at 1300~1500 °C, Al₂O₃ undergoes a solid-phase reaction with CaO to form a calcium aluminate mineral phase;
  • Cooling discharge: The clinker is discharged from the kiln head and cooled by the cooler, and finally the calcium aluminate product is formed.

In the process, the kiln burner provides a heat source, the hot air flow and the material flow in the opposite direction to ensure efficient heat transfer and uniform reaction, and the exhaust gas is discharged after dust removal at the kiln tail. The process is characterized by continuity, low energy consumption and controllable product activity.

High temperature and high efficiency: high temperature calcination is used to ensure that the solid-phase reaction between bauxite and limestone is fully carried out, with high reaction efficiency and stable product purity.
Structure optimization: calcium aluminate rotary kiln is lined with high-temperature refractory bricks or castables, which is corrosion-resistant, anti-thermal shock, and prolongs the service life of the kiln body. The calcium aluminate rotary kiln has the characteristics of simple structure, reliable operation and easy control of the production process.
Energy saving and environmental protection: The high-temperature exhaust gas can recover heat through the preheater or waste heat boiler to reduce energy consumption.
Wide application: Different calcium aluminate phase compositions can be produced by adjusting the ratio of raw materials, calcination temperature and residence time. It can be widely used in various fields such as chemical industry, environmental protection, sewage treatment, etc.
