The working principle of limonite rotary kiln is to make limonite physicochemical transformation through high-temperature heat treatment. The specific process is as follows: the water-bearing limonite enters the inclined rotating cylinder from the kiln tail, and when it passes through the heating zone, the limonite undergoes dehydration, magnetization roasting or direct reduction. The final product is cooled and discharged by the kiln head, and the exhaust gas is purified by the dust removal and desulfurization system. This process ensures that the limonite rotary kiln is able to calcinate the material into qualified clinker to meet the requirements of high yield, high quality and low consumption.

The reasons for the occurrence of raw firing in limonite rotary kiln should be understood from the aspects of raw materials, operation and temperature control: 

  • The particle size is too large: the calcination speed of limonite rotary kiln depends on the temperature at which the material degree is in contact with the surface of the stone, but at the same temperature, the calcination speed of the stone depends on the particle size of the stone. The higher the material level, the slower the calcination speed. Here, because the thermal conductivity is less than that of the calcination layer, the thickness of the layer gradually increases, the more difficult it is for heat to enter the inside of the stone, and the calcination speed is also slow, so there are often sandwiches in large stones. This is the first reason for the rotary kiln firing of raw limonite, and the particle size of the ordinary shaft kiln should be controlled at 40-80mm. The capacity of the limonite rotary kiln can be relaxed to 50-150mm. 
  • The proportion of fuel is too small or the calorific value of fuel is low: the ratio of fuel used in mixed kiln is related to the technicality of limonite rotary kiln, and the calorific value of coal used in mixed limonite rotary kiln is generally required to be above 5500. The particle size should control the amount of coal used, and water should be added appropriately. 
  • Unreasonable air supply: The stone in the limonite rotary kiln is heated and calcined by fuel combustion, and the fuel is burned by oxygen. The combustion of any fuel must meet three conditions, including fuel, oxygen, and fire, all of which are indispensable, and the wind is strong and the fire is even. In addition to the proportional amount of fuel, it is the rationality of air supply. In the inner section of the limonite rotary kiln, some local air volume is large, some air volume is small, the place where the wind is big is burned, but the place where the wind is small naturally appea.
