Magnesium oxide rotary kiln is the core equipment specially used for calcining magnesite (MgCO₃) or other magnesium-containing raw materials to produce magnesium oxide (MgO). The kiln cylinder is the heating part, which is made of high quality calm steel plate roll. It obtains high purity magnesium oxide by high temperature decomposition reaction (MgCO₃ → MgO + CO₂↑). Magnesium oxide rotary kiln mainly decomposes raw materials through high temperature calcination. The working process of magnesium oxide rotary kiln can be divided into nine steps: mineral separation, entry, sintering, artificial screening, inspection, mixing production, crushing products, inspection and storage.

First raw materials into the kiln, through the rotation of the kiln body to achieve the material fully mixed and react with each other. After calcination, cooling, grinding and molding. It is then mixed with ferrosilicon powder and fluorite powder. The magnesium is reduced and produced in large quantities in a reduction furnace at 1200 -1250°C and 1.33pa Vasco. Heat is transferred to the material by flame radiation, hot air convection and kiln brick conduction, and the material is moved forward through the kiln’s slopes and rotations.

Finally, the material passes from the kiln hood into the cooler. After a series of processes such as melt refining, ingot casting and surface treatment, finished magnesium ingots are produced.
